Adaklu Senior High School, fondly known as Adaklu SHS, was established in 1984 with the vision of providing quality secondary education to the youth of Adaklu and surrounding communities. Initially, the school started as a modest institution with limited infrastructure and resources, but through the dedication of its staff, students, and the community, it has grown into a thriving educational center.
Located in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region, the school has played a pivotal role in the educational and social development of the area. Over the years, Adaklu SHS has consistently nurtured students to become well-rounded individuals, combining academic excellence with personal growth, leadership, and community involvement.
The school began with just a few students and teachers, but as it expanded, it introduced new academic departments, extracurricular activities, and infrastructure improvements. The school has made significant strides in the areas of Science, Arts, Business including specialized departments such as Home Economics and Visual Arts, which have empowered students with both academic and practical skills.
Throughout its history, Adaklu SHS has been committed to instilling core values such as Discipline, Diligence, and Devotion, which continue to shape its students into responsible, hardworking, and ethical individuals.

The motto of Adaklu Senior High School, “Ad Astra Per Aspera,” translates to “To the Stars Through Difficulties.” This phrase embodies the school’s belief in overcoming challenges and striving for excellence despite obstacles, inspiring students to reach their full potential and achieve greatness.
